MODULE 2

This module was all about the experience that we have while traveling from one place to another like the densities of the people around us, the different sounds, the different smells, etc. The module has helped me to translate the experience I have while traveling from my home to college into a particular object or  space.

 

In my journey, I experience different levels of sounds. At some places, there are very loud sounds while at other places the sounds are soft. In my drawing, I depicted the different loudness of sounds during my journey in the form of equalizer.

 

Later on, understanding my journey in detail, I noticed that my journey is not just about the different loudness but something much more than that. For my next iteration of the drawing of my journey, I confined the journey to a particular area, the area which has the most impact on the journey. While passing by this area in the morning, I experience many different things like the beautiful breeze of the cold wind, the sparkling sun shining from distant trees, The Melody of retro classical music from a watchmakers shop, and the sweet smell of ginger tea from the tea stall nearby. I noticed that all these experiences are in the form of waves. I thought to myself what would it be like if I combine these experiences which were in the form of waves with the surroundings of my journey.

 

I tried to combine my surroundings and these wavy experiences. I went through many iterations and experimentations, trying again and again, and finally I reached at the drawing which depicted my journey. The journey of waves. The final drawing shows, how the wavy aspect of the experience combine with the surroundings of the journey.

 

In the next phase of the module, I tried to depict my journey through a particular object. I wanted to make an object from a wavy and distorted world which could give a person access to these worlds. After many iterations, I finally created a costume of waves or distortion. The person who wears this costume looks like a being from the wavy world or the distorted world. Person from wavy world.

 

This module taught me the skill with which I can translate the experiences of different aspects of the journey of my life into a particular object or space. To create a space of experiences.
