MODULE 1

In this module, I was introduced the concept of forms and understanding forms. In this world we live in, every single thing has a particular form. In order to understand these forms a broke down the forms into smaller pieces or patterns. One of the most complex forms in this world is the human hand. The reason behind this is that human hand is constantly in motion. Bulges in the palm, the different angles of the fingers are some of the complexities of the form of hand.

In order to understand the form of the hand I first began capturing different gestures of the hand, through drawing with the help of charcoal and newsprint paper. I tried to capture the bulges of the hand. In order to experiment, I tried capturing the form of the hand by changing the medium from charcoal to water colors.

Finally, I concluded by breaking down the form of the hand into smaller surfaces, which can be manipulated according to the bulges of the hand. The material that I used is a file card. This was a iterative process in which I made many versions of the form of a the hand in order to go into more depth and accurately capture the form of the hand.

At the end of this module, I have developed the skill of understanding any type of complex forms by method of breaking them down into smaller surfaces or patterns. This skill which I have developed through this module has helped me in understanding any type of forms easily and in-depth. This was a fun module that helped me understand the different characteristics of forms.
