ORENTATION MODULE
Garden of obscure objects
In this orientation module, I tried to understand the creation of different and unreal spaces. Spaces that are far beyond our thinking. In order to do that I introduce myself to a surrealist poem written by a surrealist poetAndré Breton. 'Always for the first time' is the poem that I selected. This poem talks about the unrealistic imagination of the poet when his intoxicated when he’s hallucinating.
My project was part of a Garden of Obscure Things. A garden that depicts the connection to different unrealistic spaces, surrealist spaces depicted in the poems.

By understanding this surrealist poem, I tried to create the perspective of the poet throught my charcoal drawing, this drawing depicts how a person sees the objects around him when he’s intoxicated. objects being Blurred and moving around.

From here I tried to create a space which depicts the sense of hellusination through visual perspective. In order to create this space, I concluded on making a tall barrel which was completely covered by plastic sheets. When you’re inside this barrel, you see the space around you, completely blurred as if you are intoxicated and a hellusinating. By using wooden poles for the support and using ply wood for the base of the whole structure, I was able to create this space.

This project taught me the method through which unrealistic unimaginable surrealist Poems lead to a spaces which is never thought about before. This method is a power the power through which new types of space, the new types feeling that the space provides can be introduced in our profession.
